December 19th marked the groundbreaking for the new EYP-designed Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington , DC . Located in the heart of historic Anacostia, the 448,000-sf hospital builds on a 150-year continuum of care, architecture, and community, and will serve as a model for quality mental health care. The facility includes treatment and education areas, residential spaces, and support functions for 290 civil and forensic residents. Present at the groundbreaking ceremony were EYP Project Executive Marc Shaw, the Director of DC’s Department of Mental Health, Mayor Anthony Williams, and various local community and political leaders.
