On January 30th at Northeastern University, EYP Principal/Academic Planning & Design Charles Kirby, AIA, joined a panel of experts in a roundtable discussion entitled, “Under the Microscope: Views on Academic Teaching and Graduate Research Laboratories.” The session focused on the design of science/research facilities from the perspective of planners, design experts, and college and university representatives. Kirby and the other panelists explored various topics, including the design criteria used by academic institutions, industry trends, and the way college campuses collaborate with local life sciences companies to enhance their science initiatives.
