EYP Ellis Island Renovation Wins
Design Award;Featured in AIA Publication
At the 17th annual New Jersey Historic Preservation Awards ceremony, the EYP-designed renovation of the historic ferry building at Ellis Island was honored with a 2007 New Jersey Historic Preservation Award. Organized by the New Jersey Historic Sites Council, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Historic Preservation Office, the program recognizes the efforts of individuals, organizations, and government agencies to preserve New Jersey’s valuable resources. Additionally, the April 6th edition of AIArchitect, the weekly online publication of the American Institute of Architects, featured an extensive profile and celebration of the grand re-opening of the Ellis Island project. The article includes several photographs, as well as a detailed description of all aspects of the exterior and interior restoration.
