Technology Center Wins ASCE Award
The New York Metropolitan Section Lower Hudson Valley Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers recently honored the Rockland Community College (Suffern, NY) Technology Center with its 4th Annual Tappan Zee Large Project of the Year award. Presented at the organization’s May 10th dinner-dance in Nyack, NY, the award recognizes the best major and complex civil engineering projects in the lower Hudson Valley. Designed by EYP, the new building includes technology-enhanced classrooms, a 130-seat distance learning auditorium, faculty offices, student activity spaces, and testing rooms. Further, the facility consolidates student services, improving efficiency and creating greater convenience for users. Situated at the campus’ entrance, the building was designed in a modern style, enhancing the college’s reputation for high technology while supporting the institution’s mission to offer enhanced educational opportunities to a broad constituency.
