Prestigious EYP Project Profiled in
Traditional Building Magazine
The October issue of Traditional Building magazine features a profile of the recently reopened landmark ferry building at Ellis Island. The article, entitled, "An American Treasure," discusses the building's unique history, the successful public-private partnership between Save Ellis Island, Inc., and the National Park Service, and EYP's role in the project, which included extensive exterior refurbishment, structural repairs, restoration of historic finishes and fixtures, and installation of new electrical, HVAC, and fire protection systems. EYP's involvement with the project actually extends back to 1999, when the firm was commissioned to stabilize the three main hospital buildings and the Laundry and Psychopathic Ward Buildings.
