Science Park High School, located in Newark, NJ, and designed by EYP, won the International Masonry Institute?s Golden Trowel Awards? Grand Award. The awards recognize those who contribute to a project?s success, including architects, owners, general contractors, masonry contractors, craftworkers and suppliers. This year, eleven projects throughout New Jersey were honored for excellence in masonry design and construction. The innovative 250,000-sf magnet school prepares students in grades 7 to 12 for careers in math, science and technology fields. The product of a unique partnership between Newark Public Schools and University Heights Science Park, the $64 million facility is a model for urban communities in New Jersey and beyond.
