EYP Principal in charge of structural engineering Franklin Lancaster, P.E., RA, LEED, authored the article, "Subduing Vibration in Laboratory Buildings," for the November issue of Structure magazine. Using several case studies as examples, the article discussed how vibrations in laboratories and other buildings used for science can interfere with sensitive equipment, disrupt experiments, and affect the behavior of subjects. Further, Lancaster explored the unique measures engineers and designers must take to ensure that structures are more resistant to vibration challenges.
