This new building, linked to an existing science facility, brings five departments together in a 205,000-sf unified science center. The design of this large facility maintains the intimacy of the Hamilton experience by organizing space into “communities” of faculty offices, student/faculty research laboratories, instrument space and teaching laboratories. Opportunities for interdisciplinary connections, both horizontally and vertically, are celebrated, resulting in open inviting stairways and hallways, each with spaces to linger and chat. The building showcases the College’s commitment to protecting our environment through innovative Energy Design, including displacement ventilation, and geothermal heating and cooling.
