The Jackson Laboratory, founded in 1929, is a world leader in mammalian genetics research. The expansion of the Laboratory's research program includes: a master plan to explore options for campus growth and upgraded infrastructure, the new East Research Building, the BioInformatics Commons, and expansion of the Functional Genomics Building.
The East Research Building adds 66,000-square feet of flexible space for eight research groups.
The BioInformatics Commons creates a 6,000-square foot multi-purpose gathering space for the institution as well as dedicated and shared computers for research.
The expansion of the Functional Genomics Building provides 41,000-square feet of new and 4,500-square feet of renovated space that increases capacity and separates clean and dirty process flows.
