The renovation of this national historic landmark, originally constructed in 1920, incorporated the most technologically advanced classrooms on campus. For example, as part of the Academy's Netcentric Operational and Warfighting Center, two virtual-reality rooms simulate ship operations. A raised floor system added maximum flexibility for the telecommunications and computer infrastructure. The renovations to the 98,000-sf structure also created a new Main Hall and Rotunda at the heart of the building to establish a new sense of entry, place, and identity. A skylight brings daylight into this ceremonial space.
