Completed in association with Helfand Architecture, this renovation and expansion of the Swarthmore Campus created an improved environment for the study of the sciences. A new 80,000-sf facility links three buildings of different ages and architectural styles and provides physical connections to all science disciplines and to the science library. Along these connections are spaces for informal interaction that connect strongly with the outdoors. This LEED-certified building expresses and celebrates Swarthmore's commitment to the environment. Exterior materials include rubble-coursed schist, cut granite and terne-coated stainless steel.
