We transformed the original 1950 reference room into a new 2,600-square-foot cafe open for 24/7 use. The space was updated with a mix of new furniture, including upholstered armchairs, high and low wood tables, and stools at granite counters, designed to provide a variety of options for both individuals and small groups to eat, relax, and study. The cafe has wireless data access and numerous power receptacles for student laptops. Six public access computer terminals are also installed on the counter near the entrance. Original bookshelves were left on one wall to be stocked with periodicals for casual reading.
