The award-winning restoration of the centerpiece of the esteemed Harvard University Library System required extensive renovation and engineering systems upgrades to protect the historic building and its 3.5 million volumes, the largest private library in the world. EYP addressed environmental, HVAC, electrical power, renovation, and fire protection issues throughout the 1915 building, and restored existing features and finishes while meeting the functional needs of the Library. Now fully renovated, the invaluable collections are protected by modern systems that regulate temperature, humidity, air quality, and ultraviolet light, and provide fire protection.
